Shinobi Japanese Secret Beer Garden
For the month of March 2010, Beer DeLuxe, at Federation Square, will showcase Japanese culture, beers and food as part of the Shinobi Secret Japanese Beer Garden – a concept that complements Beer DeLuxe’s approach of bringing the world of beer to Melbourne, It is part of the official programme of the 2010 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. It has also collaborated with ESS Laboratory who have are exhibiting "The Disfigurement of Purity" within Shinobi as part of the cultural programme of the 2010 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
Drawing on Japanese mythology, Shinobi takes its name from the secret society of Japanese men, and is another word for ninja.
Japan produces some well-known beers, such as Asahi and Kirin.However, there are many other Japanese beers that are hard to find outside of Japan that are being flown in especially for the Shinobi Secret Japanese Beer Garden at Beer DeLuxe. These beers will be able to be enjoyed throughout March with freshly prepared sushi and yakitori, along with Japanese sake, soft drinks, teas and Japanese-inspired cocktails.
